Aftermarket Headlamp

Post by Dorian Grey » Tue Mar 24, 2020 6:20 pm

I had a little incident. I have a broken tab on my headlamp. New OEM headlamps are about $350. Is there a decent aftermarket part available? I see them on Ebay for $99 - $150 but have no idea if they fit and will accept the bulbs and wiring. Any help is appreciated.

Thank, DG.

you might be better off glueing or welding the the tab(s), if you still got em.
then again, I've heard people affixing their lamps with one tab minus for years.
- from what I know, the F lamp isn't even all that heavy.
compared to a "full-outta-glass" 7R one, anyway.

I had intended to epoxy the tabs but 3 are snapped and the lens is broken end to end. I need a replacement.

From what it looks like on eBay, many ZZR-600's use the same headlamp, so that should open up additional possibilities.
Kawasaki ZX-9R Ninja EVAP sE1. At the track she's said to be outclassed, but on the street, she reigns unmatched. You’re encouraged to challenge that claim. I pick the course. -- Mods: Carbureted, not Fuel Injected, Nissin caliper upgrade, SuperTrapp Aluminum Racing Series exhaust (Made in USA), ZG sport-touring shield, Keihin rejetted, AEM wideband AFR gauge, éan creiche malar stripes. I think I'm going to order an aftermarket HL assembly.

I wish I could find a left side cowl. It's discontinued. A parts dealer in Europe says they have one but high shipping cost and non-returnable if it is the wrong part. I wish I could find a used one in any color...I'd paint it.

Look for chinese aftermarket parts for the side cowl.
Not sure if they're on ebay, but should be on aliexpress.

The whole fairing set with shipping might end up being cheaper than just the original one.
Do some research on the quality, though - some are better than others, from what I've heard.

Shipping might be a problem nowdays, but there is always something.
