9rB's have a reputation for blowing head gaskets.

From my most recent viewing of forums, the problem was with the torque spec for the models B1&B2. the torque spec on the assembly line was not high enough to tighten the engine block cylinder head causing the gasket to blow on the middle pots.

It was suggested that the heads could and should be re-torqued during valve clearance adjustment.
