ZZR1200 C1 Service/Repair Manual

Post by ZX-9RE1Nick » Mon Jul 20, 2015 10:26 pm

Would you believe that the mighty Haynes don't produce a service/repair manual for the above bike, or it's predecessor the ZZR1100 - a bike that was ThE bike to have for a long period in the 90's....
WTF IS ALL THAT ABOUT?
If anyone has any links or info on where I can get hold of a service & repair manual for a 2002 model ZZR1200 I would appreciate it as we have trouble in the engine department! :o #-o :?
Cheers,
Nick

I did have a ZZR1100 Haynes years since, 'til some Tw@t borrowed it permanently (bet i've lost 10 or more that way), so they did do one.

Never noticed a 12 one :|

Engine is the same as the ZRX1200 with only a couple of differences such as gearbox and cams.

What's gone wrong? Hope it's not the starter chain tensioner.

I recon some people think this site is only for taking the piss.
Just got yourself a ZX-9R, then do yourself and your bike a favour, read this thread the sticky post in General Technical viewtopic.php?f=21&t=28097

Please will forum members put their bike model letter, & 1 or 2 after their Profile Location. eg: Your Town & B1,2,3,4 C1,2 E1,2 F1,2
As all zx9's are all slightly different, and I get fed up having to ask which model & number, as a year may not be accurate.

I guess I should have looked there first! :o
But being a forum for Zx-9R models, I really wasn't expecting to see one listed among the manual download links here.
You guys are brilliant, I thank you all once again.
As soon as I am back on a 9 myslef, I will be back.
In the meantime, I have to fix the 12R up, as we are bored of driving in a box on wheels already!

Started off as Sue taking it out & saying it "Isn't running right & unresponsive"
I started her up next day & she sounded like the world's first DIESEL ZZR1200!!! :o
Stripped the fairing, tank, airbox etc off & removed the plugs to find No.1 seriuosly worn out (original plugs from 2002 & covered 21k now), No.'s 2, 3 & 4 were oil fouled - with No.4 in particular very wet.
Seems there are spark plug gaskets in the rocker cover on this engine, so I suspect they need replacing.
There is no smoke, rattles or knocks from the engine/exhaust & it hardly gets ridden really, so I guess it's a case of perished rubber gaskets.
Parts prices are being generated as I type & hopefully it'll rectify the issues.
Obviously I'm giving her an oil & filter service too, & fitting new plugs along with the aforementioned gaskets & a rocker cover gasket too.
I might try & tap a mate up who's good with bikes to check the valve clearances while the cover is off too :)
Fingers crossed all goes well.

Not as intended Yorkie, as said I have searched high & low for a manual & wasn't expecting to find one here!
Steve, I have sent you a donation in appreciation.
Thanks very much :D
