Zx9r /7r conversion

Post by chris mad » Tue Apr 26, 2016 6:37 pm

Hi,
As I understand it the B series 9r engine is a fairly straightforward swap for the zx7r motor.
Is it possible to install an E series 9r motor, I believe they are wider, are the modifications needed to make it fit possible / practical.

As you may have guessed by now, my garage now houses a 96 Zx7r and a rather tidy looking 9 E series motor, hmmmm .

All information, advice, encouragement and even ridicule invited and appreciated.
Chris

I have seen a picture of a zx7r with a 9r c,e,f motor in it ( not sure which one ) it's a member on here but he only posted twice and I haven't heard from him since

I should think an F model motor would work best as it has the forward engine mounts on the front of the cylinder head like the 9b / zx7r does

You go through all the trouble of fitting a late model 9 engine into a 7 and then spend all of 5 mins making it look shite.
