Wanting to tidy up the little paint chip marks on the bottom of the ZX12R's fork legs, any tips on products and ways to get a decent finish (without pulling them out and apart)

not really , just a good degrease with whatever you have handy {white vinegar works well and is cheap ] ,

pull your dust seal out of the way and mask up

400's , 600's , then a few coats of £1.00 black from B+m or the £ shop {doesn't matter if it's mat, silk or gloss , } then a couple more coats of lacquer/clear coat ,

once touch dry , get the hair dryer on it for a few mins, so it dries good and hard ready for your rebuild
[keep hair dryer /heat gun moving so as not to burn your new paint}
